We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Code 10 Driver with a Dangerous Goods License to join our logistics team in Honeydew. If you have a strong track record in safe and efficient driving, expertise in handling hazardous materials, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and professionalism, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

Safe Transportation of Goods

  • Operate a Code 10 vehicle to transport dangerous goods safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials while adhering to transport schedules.
  • Drive in compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Handling of Dangerous Goods

  • Load, secure, and transport hazardous materials in accordance with legal requirements and safety protocols.
  • Follow all HAZMAT (hazardous materials) handling procedures to minimize risks during transit.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of transported goods, including waybills and safety compliance forms.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the fleet manager immediately.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary safety equipment.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Strictly follow Dangerous Goods transport regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper labeling and secure storage of hazardous materials in the vehicle.
  • Attend safety briefings, training sessions, and refresher courses as required.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with clients and dispatch coordinators.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery status and report any delays or challenges.
  • Accurately handle delivery paperwork, ensuring smooth transactions with clients.

Requirements

🔹 Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with a PrDP Dangerous Goods (DGP) License (Non-Negotiable).
🔹 Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in hazardous goods transport.
🔹 Strong knowledge of road safety laws, HAZMAT regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
🔹 Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations professionally.
🔹 Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
🔹 Good communication skills in English (Afrikaans or other languages is a plus).
🔹 Physically fit and able to load/unload cargo when required.
