Job Title: General Manager – Boutique Travel Agency
Location: Limpopo (Relocation Beneficial but Not Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: R240,000 per annum + Commission on Airline Ticket Sales + Cellphone Package

We are a fully IATA and SATA registered boutique travel agency specializing in international travel, offering top-tier airline ticketing services and personalized travel experiences. As we expand our operations, we need a strategic leader who can combine industry expertise with entrepreneurial drive to maximize revenue, develop key partnerships, and establish our brand on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management & Airline Ticketing
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the agency, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Utilize Amadeus to book and manage airline tickets, ensuring accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to industry standards.
- Handle complex travel arrangements and optimize ticketing strategies for maximum profitability.
- Ensure compliance with IATA and SATA regulations.
International Marketing & Business Expansion
- Travel extensively to market the agency internationally, forging key relationships and expanding our global footprint.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities worldwide.
- Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and high-value clients to grow revenue streams.
Client Relations & Sales Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve client retention.
- Manage and enhance customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Optimize commission-based airline ticket sales, leveraging industry knowledge to maximize profitability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide strong leadership to a growing team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Implement best practices for staff training, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Ensure staff members are up to date with the latest industry trends and booking technologies.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
15+ years of experience in the travel industry, with a strong background in airline ticketing.
Amadeus registration with an in-depth knowledge of booking airline tickets and system operations.
Bachelor’s degree or Senior Diploma in a market-related field (Tourism, Business, Marketing, or similar).
Proven ability to market and promote travel services internationally – must be able to travel for extended periods (up to 4 weeks at a time).
Strong understanding of IATA and SATA compliance requirements.
Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English (additional languages a plus).
Tech-savvy with expertise in relevant travel software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
Highly presentable and professional with outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and drive business success.
